Free Hairdressing in Adelaide
Unemployed Workers Union Rights GuideAdelaide Zero Project homeless count dashboard(above) Renovations creak along at the Hutt Street Centre. Current management seems to think it's okay to mostly shut the joint down for two years. Don't they realise people living outside depend on the services? Ian Cox would have arranged an alternate venue during construction. He should be returned on a sedan chair. (Adelaide Homeless Journal February 2021).
On the Street
Instead of investigating who facilitates the importation of Ice precursor chemicals from China and southeast Asia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports that a fourth woman has gone to the police to report being touched on the thigh inappropriately some years ago by the Brittany Higgins alleged rapist. * A woman client of Fred’s Van Kilburn said the difference with that place is that clients will defend anyone being bullied. At other joints a thug can punch or kick or spit at a client and both management and clients will turn a blind eye. They might even take the side of the aggressor for fear of retribution. * The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia (RAA) has sent out proxy ballots for a special meeting to change the constitution allowing the Board to appoint non-elected members. They also want the power to add comments that allow them to badmouth nominee members on the ballot supplement they don’t think are qualified to run for office. The hard-to-understand proxy voting forms sent in the mail to vote on these changes didn’t come with an envelope and were made from glossy paper making it easy for someone to change the voting intentions stated. It appears that a small clique want to control the RAA by making it hard to dislodge incumbents via the voting process. And it appears someone wants to get hold of the valuable RAA insurance business. * Megaphone Man’s girlfriend said to him after he’d shaved, “Ah, you’ve been kicked in the face.” She recognised the symptoms and appearance as she’s been kicked in the face many times. * The South Australian Medical and Health Research Institute (SAMHRI) on North Terrace, Adelaide has been doing chemical hypnosis experiments on human test subjects. * A woman from the Beacon of Hope free lunch at Elizabeth was furious when she discovered the church had cancelled its free sit-down lunches to a takeaway service from the back door. This was in response to fights caused by drug junkies. The woman said everyone was being punished for the action of the drug users. Apparently, staff hadn’t realised threats and violence were going on for quite some time because no one complained. Why would you? * Anglicare is shoving numerous contracts in front of very old tenants being transferred between properties. The old people don’t have a clue what they are signing and aren’t given an opportunity to read the contracts and permissions let alone have a copy for a few days to read over. It's not just Anglicare that does this. This attitude of pressured uninformed consent has permeated nearly every so-called benevolent and so-called non-profit organisation. 28 February 2021 Drip-feed data collection
The Hutt Street Centre has a donation form entitled, “I want to help”. Does this sound normal or does it resemble an application form? Anyway, the form requires personal data from the “applicant” before he or she can read further. The Hutt Street Centre probably doesn’t have bad intentions, but the whole application form should be displayed so the prospective donors can see what they’re getting into before giving any personal data page by page. All the data collection requirements should be displayed as a single page. Editor: I removed the link for this page as the Hutt Street Centre wrongly exploited the personal life of an elderly woman on it. 28 February 2021 (above) Despite all the millions of dollars thrown at homelessness in Adelaide, getting a shower is one of the most difficult services to locate. And those few joints that offer showers manage to maximise the complications and humiliations such as the government-funded Gawler Visitors' Centre. (Adelaide Homeless Journal February 2021).
